Full Job Description

US Heart and Vascular is seeking a PRN Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Birmingham Heart Clinic in Birmingham AL. This role supports our growing PET imaging services covering days when our full-time techs (who work 4-10 schedules) are off as well as providing coverage to our satellite offices.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform PET scans
  • Explain medical procedures to patients and answer any questions they may have
  • Follow safety procedures to protect the patients and themselves from unnecessary radiation exposure
  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals as required
  • Operate imaging equipment
  • Maintain detailed procedure records
  • Follow safety and disposal radiation procedures
  • Provide coverage at satellite office locations as needed

Requirements Skills and Abilities

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology
  • Registered with ARRT or NMTCB
  • BLS/CPR certification
  • Flexibility to travel to satellite office locations as needed
