Job Summary
The GI Division at Massachusetts General Hospital is looking for an experienced nurse practitioner or physician assistant to join our fast-paced ambulatory academic gastroenterology practice for our Boston location. Under the supervision and direction of the Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Manager and faculty of the General GI team and in accordance with the rules and regulations of Massachusetts governing nurse practitioner and physician assistant practice the APP will play an important team role with care delivery and continuity for patients with general GI conditions.The APP will be clinically based with 8 clinical sessions with one hour of administrative time given for each clinical session. Working closely with a dedicated team of physicians APPs nurses medical assistants and patient care coordinators the APP plays a critical role in delivering direct patient care. The APP will participate in a team-based care approach to see patients diagnosed with various GI disease and disorders. The APP will be responsible for new urgent and follow-up visits.
This is a Monday-Friday day shift schedule. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of related APP experience.

Masters Degree Nursing/Physician Assistant required

Licenses and Credentials
Advanced Practice Registered Nurse APRN-NP - State License - or Physician Assistant licensure in MA.
Experience
Experience as an NP/PA: 0-1 year preferred
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Skilled in taking medical histories to assess medical condition and interpret findings.
- Ability to maintain quality control standards.
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
- Ability to interpret adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
- Ability to communicate clearly and establish/maintain effective working relationships with patients medical staff and the public.
