We are currently seeking a Nuclear Medicine/X-Ray Tech to join our growing hospital.
The Nuclear Medicine/X-ray Technologist duties will include but are not limited to:
Prepares exam room and x-ray and nuclear medicine equipment to conduct examination.
Reviews the physicians order to assure appropriateness of the examination being requested.
Performs a variety of general diagnostic studies with efficiency and assures that proper protocol is used.
Prepares contrast media for administration to patients and reviews images for proper positioning technique and identification.
Evaluates images for diagnostic quality prior to submitting for interpretation.
Prepares the necessary medicines for injection into patients for nuclear medical procedures.
Administers IV injections.
Alert appropriate medical staff of any abnormalities that need immediate attention.
Supervises personnel in nuclear medicine.
Checks the isotope boxes department bookkeeping and disposal of decayed isotopes.
Orders necessary isotopes.
Schedules patients and technicians.
Performs necessary paperwork including documentation.
Responsible for calling for repair service.
Checks records daily for accuracy.
Maintains files for inspection by government agencies.
Informs supervisor of upcoming license expirations.
Performs all necessary tests required by government agencies.
May perform special assignments for the Administrative Assistant.
Job Requirements:
Associates Degree Graduate from an approved program in nuclear medicine/x-ray technology required
IEMA license required
Eligibility for Registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or Certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board is required
Proficient with Nuclear Medicine and X-ray required
Demonstrates proficiency in performing diagnostic imaging
Function proficiently with all technical equipment and diagnostic modality
CPR/BLS certification required
Knowledge of medical terminology radioactive medication
Experience:
Nuclear Medicine and X-Ray Technologist: 1 year (Required)
