News 12 is our award-winning hyper local news stationcovering communities throughout Long Island the Bronx Brooklyn Westchester Hudson Valley Connecticut and New Jersey. News 12 New York is our National streaming service for regional news weather and News 12 originals.

The Software Developer - Frontend will build and maintain high-performance digital solutions that power News 12s customer-facing and internal platforms. Working within a modern cloud-hosted environment they will contribute to front-end software design decisions UI quality standards and collaborate closely with backend and product teams to deliver exceptional experiences.
- Contributor in designing and developing scalable maintainable React applications following modern best practices.
- Participate in estimation sprint planning and daily status reporting of assigned tasks.
- Participate in code reviews to uphold high standards of code quality and accessibility.
- CSS implementation including responsive design theming and performance
- Monitor and improve responsiveness and other key browser metrics for your deliverables.
- Stay current with latest technologies and best practices in the industry.
- 2 years of professional frontend development experience
- 3 years experience in React including hooks context state management patterns and performance optimization techniques
- Clear understanding of modern Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) including layouts (Flexbox Grid) and responsive design
- Familiarity with at least some best practices for software development using AI
- Experience instrumenting frontend observability: logging performance metrics alerting and dashboards
- Experience with frontend testing frameworks
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative team-oriented mindset
- Understands software security best practices
- Must have a strong desire for self-improvement
- Strong understanding of software development processes procedures and technology

Pay is competitive and based on a number of job-related factors including skills and experience. The starting pay rate/range at time of hire for this position in the posted location is$83538.00-$137241.00/ year. The rate/range provided herein is the anticipated pay at the time of hire and does not reflect future job opportunity.
