Core Technical Responsibilities
A. On-Site Systems / Network Engineering
Install configure and support:
Network hardware and software
Gateways and switches
Hands-on troubleshooting from:
Desktop/end-user level
Up through network-level issues
Office footprint is large (37000 sq. ft.) requiring someone comfortable supporting a growing environment.
Important clarification:
Exact hardware brand experience (e.g. Cisco certs) is not required
Broad networking experience is sufficient; the expectation is that a seasoned engineer can adapt quickly.
B. Cloud Infrastructure (Critical Component)
The majority of client:
Firewalls
Load balancers
Redundancy
Security layers are built in the cloud not on-prem.
Cloud platforms:
Azure (primary)
AWS (also in use)
Key expectations:
Experience with cloud-based networking and infrastructure design
Understanding of how network components operate in cloud environments
Ability to support and maintain cloud-hosted infrastructure once implemented
Active Directory (High Priority)
client is rolling out Active Directory
The resource must have experience with:
AD design
AD implementation
Ongoing maintenance
AD will initially be cloud-based (Azure) with expectations that skills translate across platforms.
4. Ideal Candidate Profile
Title could be:
Network Engineer
Network Systems Engineer
Experience:
Targeting 4 years in systems or network engineering
Background:
Strong hybrid background is ideal:
Traditional systems / network engineering
Progression into cloud infrastructure
The hiring team believes many strong cloud engineers originally came from systems/network roles making this blended skill set realistic.
