Network System Engineer Hybrid

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Network / System Engineer for a hybrid position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte NC Chandler AZ or Richmond VA. This is a 12 month contract opportunity.

This role is part of a cloud team responsible for managing a very large internal virtualization platform. As part of a modernization effort this position will focus on migrating a large virtual machine estate from legacy hosting and network platforms to new strategic platforms. The hybrid schedule requires a minimum of 3 days per week onsite.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a very large internal virtualization platform that is key to the clients day-to-day functionality
• Coordinate migration work with project team technical resources
• Coordinate non-automated migrations with application teams
• Develop and manage migration plans
• Raise issues with internal technical teams and drive resolution
• Raise change requests
• Work with both technical and non-technical team members and application managers

Requirements:

• Experience migrating a large VM estate from legacy hosting and network platforms to new strategic platforms
• Strong organization skills and ability to handle large projects
• Technical background including good experience with virtualization environments and core network concepts
• Experience with VMWare core products: ESXi vSphere vSAN
• Technical awareness of Core networking technologies RHEL and Windows
• Excellent coordination and negotiation skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong reporting skills
• Ability to handle challenges and overcome obstacles
• Ability to meticulously notice analyze and manage small elements to ensure accuracy thoroughness and quality

Pay range: $60.24 - $68.24 per hour
