Network Engineering Design Manager
The Network Engineering Design Manager is responsible for designing implementing optimizing and supporting enterprise network architectures. This position provides technical leadership for LAN CAN and WAN data voice and video networks while supporting advanced routing switching VoIP network security and datacenter modernization initiatives.
Job Responsibilities
- Design enterprise LAN CAN and WAN data voice and video network architectures.
- Configure and implement advanced routing protocols including BGP OSPF and MPLS.
- Analyze network performance metrics and identify network performance issues.
- Develop bandwidth network performance and network security incident reports.
- Troubleshoot and integrate DoD network intrusion systems and commercial information assurance tools.
- Administer advanced Cisco networking technologies including routers switches VoIP and other network technologies.
- Provide technical training to contractor and government personnel.
- Train personnel on Cisco switches and routers hardware troubleshooting LAN technologies and operating systems used on deployed networks.
- Analyze network and system requirements.
- Participate in planning designing upgrading and deploying enterprise datacenter hardware and software.
- Support project-based network engineering initiatives.
- Provide general IT management support.
- Provide general networking support.
- Provide LAN/WAN enterprise support.
- Provide network operations and maintenance support.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and reports.
- Support technical meetings and briefings.
- Provide functional training and knowledge-sharing support.
- Support CONUS and OCONUS deployments and TDY travel as required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in a related field with 5 years of relevant IT experience or 7 years of relevant IT experience.
- Experience with firewalls.
- Knowledge of network threats and network security.
- Ability to analyze information and provide recommendations to improve network performance.
- Experience installing and supporting Microsoft Windows Server in host and compute environments.
- Experience using Windows Server images.
- Experience implementing storage solutions and high-availability environments.
- Experience with DNS and DHCP.
- Experience with network connectivity and remote-access solutions.
- Experience with core and distributed network infrastructure.
- Experience maintaining and monitoring enterprise server environments.
- Strong enterprise networking and network engineering experience.
