Network Engineer, Senior (HPC)

AMERICAN SYSTEMS a 100% employee-owned federal government contractor is seeking aSenior Network Engineerwith strongLinux CLI experienceto support a secureRHEL-based HPC environmentinArlington VA.

This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who can supporthigh-bandwidth low-latency networks troubleshoot acrossnetwork devices and Linux hosts and help maintainsecure mission-critical inter-site connectivityin a performance-sensitive environment.

This role includes a $5000 sign-on bonus in addition to a generous compensation package.

As aSenior Network Engineerworking in a securehigh-performance computing environment you will:

• Support the design implementation and optimization ofhigh-bandwidth low-latency inter-site networks
• Troubleshoot connectivity and performance issues usingLinux CLI toolsand network devicecommand line interfaces
• AdministerRHEL-based networked environments includinginterfaces bonding VLAN tagging routing DNS DHCP and name resolution
• Configure and supportCisco Juniper and Cienainfrastructure includingrouting switching firewalls VPNs optical transport and data circuits
• Supportnetwork segmentationACLsVLANsVPNs anddevice access controlin secure environments
• Assist withCisco ISEadministrationauthenticationauthorization andpolicy enforcement
• Analyze and resolve issues involvingrouting MTU latency throughput and traffic flow
• Supportmaintenanceupgradestechnology refreshdocumentationnetwork diagrams andoperational procedures
• Partner withsystemscybersecurity andinfrastructure teamsto sustainsecure reliable mission operations

• TS/SCI clearancewithSAP eligibility
• DoD 8140 IAT II certificationor higher such asSecurity CE
• Bachelors degree inIT Computer Science Engineering or related field or equivalent directly related experience in lieu of degree
• 5-7 yearsof experience innetwork engineeringnetwork administration or related infrastructure roles
• CCNA or highercertification
• Strong experience withLinux CLI including troubleshooting onRHEL-based systems
• Experience with Linux networking concepts such asinterfaces bonding VLAN tagging routing name resolution port connectivity and performance analysis
• Experience using tools such asip ss tcpdump ping traceroute dig and nslookup
• Experience supportinghigh-bandwidth low-latency multi-site networks
• Strong knowledge ofLayer 2/Layer 3TCP/IPVLANsroutingACLsDNSDHCPhigh availabilitysegmentationMTUlatency andthroughput
• Experience withCisco routing and switchingfirewallsVPNs andhigh-capacity data circuits
• Ability to work independently with general direction in amission-focused team environment
