GENERAL PURPOSE:
- The Network Administrator plays a vital role in keeping our IT infrastructure secure efficient and connected.
- This position is responsible for administering network maintenance network security devices software and hardware related to the Local Area Network and Wide Area Network connecting to the network.
- The Network Administrator will apply proven communication analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify communicate and resolve issues to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments.
- From safeguarding systems with top-tier security measures to overseeing network upgrades and empowering users through training this position goes far beyond IT support-its the central link that holds our operations together.
- Success in this role requires deep technical knowledge across a wide range of hardware software and systems enabling the administrator to propel our organization into the future.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Network Setup & Maintenance
- Install configure and manage network hardware (routers switches access points firewalls)
- Maintain LANs WANs VPNs and other network segments
- Monitor network performance and ensure optimal uptime
- Participate in disaster recovery and business continuity operations
Security & Access Control
- Implement and manage firewalls endpoint protection and intrusion detection systems
- Control user access authentication and permissions
- Conduct regular security audits and apply patches
- Participating in Cyber Security Projects and Initiatives
Troubleshooting & Support
- Diagnose/resolve network & helpdesk issues
- Provide technical support to users and IT teams
- Maintain documentation of network configurations diagrams and incidents
Performance Optimization
- Analyze traffic and usage patterns to improve efficiency
- Upgrade systems and recommend improvements
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate records of network infrastructure and changes
- Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards
- Assist in planning for network expansion and scalability
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Two or more years of experience in a network administrator role
- Proven skills in network operations and performance analysis
- Strong communication skills for training and assisting users
