Job Summary
As a Tier 2 Network Administrator youll be challenged with enterprise support problems where you will coordinate with the Network Operations Center and other Operational staff to address break fix configuration update schedule add moves and changes and technology upgrades and installs for Network routers and switches. You are expected as one of experienced Network team members to coordinate ticket acceptance and resolutions. You will support the development of technical resolution reports for critical outages in the this role the Network Administrator will be responsible for:
- Conduct approvednetwork changesto include but not limited toVLan ACL and port assignment.
- Perform IOSupgrades to routers and switches.
- Performrouting and switching equipment technology upgradesto ensurecontinuedoperations of the enterprise.
- Draft Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) fornetworkoperations.
- Resolvesystems failures and accessibility problemswithin the network to our services.
- Support site survey andengineering designsdata calls.
- Support new/enhanced networkimplementation installation and technical refresh projects within a site or locale.
- Works independently withsomesupervision.
- In remote locations must function as independent engineering maintenance and network problem solving with minimal or intermittent input from other Tiers/locations.
- Problems faced are difficult willrequire detailed information gathering analysis and investigation to understand willemploy creativity and ingenuity for new technical solutions applicable across the enterprise drawing heavily on prior experience.
- Perform Network ticket resolution.
- Support Network ticket closureacrossNetworkOperationsstaff toinclude:
- Use administrative access to the network to provision new switches routers and Cryptographicdevices.
- Uses administrative access to network components to research errors incidents problems and to perform incident analysis andidentifypotential problems.
- Routing Service Requests to theappropriate organizationrequiredfor incident resolution.
- Performs root cause analyses.
- Completes problem resolutions associated with incident ticket(s)
- Review and implementation of Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
- TS/SCI security clearance with ability to obtain and maintain a polygraph
- A Bachelors degree with 5 years of experience OR a Masters degree with 3 years of experience OR a PhD with 1 years of experience; an additional 4 years of experience maybe considered in lieu of a degree requirement
- Experience with various routing protocols (BGP OSPF VRF MPLS or 802.1x)
- Experience with Cisco-ISE
- Knowledge of KG-175 Series TACLANES configuration process fault isolation and firmware upgrade procedures
- Familiarity Cisco and Juniper network devices
- Active IAT Level II Certification
- Active CCNA Certification
