MS Boys Basketball Assistant Coach

Job Summary
Kittitas Secondary School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our coaching staff as an Assistant Coach for the Middle School Boys Basketball team. This seasonal position offers the opportunity to work closely with student-athletes fostering their skills teamwork and sportsmanship. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for basketball and a commitment to developing young athletes both on and off the court.

Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Coach in planning and implementing practice sessions drills and game strategies.
- Provide instruction and feedback to student-athletes to enhance their basketball skills and understanding of the game.
- Help organize and supervise team activities including practices games and team meetings.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team environment that promotes sportsmanship respect and teamwork.
- Monitor the academic progress and behavior of student-athletes ensuring they uphold school and team standards.
- Assist in the management of equipment and supplies related to the basketball program.
- Communicate effectively with players parents and school administration regarding team matters.
- Attend all scheduled practices and games as well as coaching meetings and training sessions.
- Support the Head Coach in scouting opponents and developing game plans for competitions.

Requirements
- Previous experience playing or coaching basketball at the middle school high school or collegiate level preferred.
- Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals strategies and rules.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the Head Coach fellow coaching staff and school personnel.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to promoting a positive and safe environment for all student-athletes.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain prior to the start of the season.
- Must pass a background check as required by school district policies.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends during the basketball season.
