Bates Technical College is launching a new MRI Technology associate degree program in Fall 2025 and were looking for Part-Time Faculty who are to share their knowledge and help shape the next generation of imaging professionals. This flexible teaching opportunity initially starts as an adjunct teaching faculty which offers up to full-time hours (35 hours/week) with the possibility to transition into a tenure-track position within the first year of the programs growth. Courses are planned for three days a week or fewer with the option to incorporate hybrid or online this role youll help design curriculum build connections with clinical sites and ensure the program meets ARRT and industry standards. Whether youre looking for a new direction or want to combine teaching with ongoing work in the field this is a chance to be part of something new meaningful and built to meet the industry need for new MRI professionals. Our faculty work up to 214 contract days across four quarters and the teaching schedule includes 7 weeks off each summer plus winter and spring breaks giving you the space to recharge continue clinical work if you choose and design a schedule that supports work-life balance and long-term sustainability. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & OTHER DUTIES
Essential Functions
Teach assigned courses and provide high quality instruction in a variety of delivery methods potentially including face-to-face web-enhanced hybrid and online.
Provide hands-on learning experiences integrating industry best practices in MRI technology patient care and imaging procedures.
Design engaging real-world assignments that reinforce learning outcomes and prepare students for professional practice.
Document and maintain records of demonstrated student competencies to ensure eligibility for ARRT examination and licensure in WA state.
Guide students in understanding safety protocols regulatory compliance and ethical considerations in MRI practice.
Collaborate with healthcare partners to align the curriculum with workforce needs and secure clinical placements.
Support student exploration and career development in MRI technology and medical imaging.
Participate in curriculum development and continuous improvement to ensure courses reflect evolving industry standards accreditation requirements and technological advancements.
Communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues students and clinical partners.
Provide students with clear course expectations evaluations and timelines through well-structured syllabi and course materials.
Support student recruitment retention completion and career readiness through effective instruction and mentorship.
Respond to student questions on a timely basis.
Provide individual and small group instruction to students in a classroom setting utilizing available technology.
Ensure that individual lab and small group instruction is based on the best available education practices meet standards for content and is relevant to students career goals.
Maintain student and curriculum records i.e. student progress and attendance instructional syllabi course curriculum and plans and grades.
Ensure students are prepared for and can obtain relevant industry credentials and certifications.
Deliver classroom management to maintain a suitable learning environment by responding appropriately to student conduct/problems and aid in solving them in accordance with college procedures.
Provide budget management which includes requisition and maintenance control of and safeguard inventories of equipment and supplies assigned to the program.
Non-Essential/Other Functions
Actively contribute to and participate in college-wide activities in support of regional accreditation and state and federal requirements.
Support college student achievement practices to ensure student retention completionand progression.
Participate actively and collaboratively with College Student Services and program advisory committees to support access to employment opportunities for students and maintain student job placement records.
Accountable for keeping personal development up-to-date; adding to skills and knowledge through courses that may be available through the Bates Technical College courses professional development committees etc.
Participate actively and collaboratively on committees for college as needed including but not limited to staff recruitment college councils etc.
Additional activities duties and responsibilities may be added with or without notice to meet college needs.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications
Associates degree in related field and active certification/registration/licensure in your area of expertise.
Five years relevant experience including at least two years professional/healthcare experience with education ideally with training or mentoring experience in preparation to provide classroom instruction.
Allowable Substitution If necessary alternative combinations of education and experience may be evaluated by Human Resources for comparability.
Preferred Qualifications
Associates degree in related field and active ARRT MRI Certification or ability to obtain ARRT MRI credential within 6 months of hire. (moved from minimum)
