Job Summary
This position is based at the Eielson Commissary Eielson AFB AK. The purpose of this position is to drive a refrigerated truck with a Gross Vehicular Weight (GVW) of 33000 pounds between various Commissaries in Alaska. Also performs the duties of a store worker and fork lift operator.

- Oversees the safety and security of the vehicle and cargo plans itineraries to assure best utilization of time and safest route maintains paperwork and maintenance records
- Operates electric diesel or gasoline powered forklift capable of lifting loads weighing less than 10000 pounds
- Performs full range of store worker duties such as receiving handling marking preparing displaying and maintaining the stock of resale items

Examples of qualifying experience:
You will receive credit for all relevant qualifying experience (paid and unpaid) including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community student social).
Physical requirements: (1) Stand stoop kneel bend and climb for prolonged periods. (2) Frequently lifts or moves loads weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted and occasionally over 100 pounds with assistance. (3) While operating a forklift uses moderate physical effort in operating hand and foot controls while driving turning starting and stopping the forklift and raising lowering and tilting loads being moved. (4) Moderate physical effort is required to operate turn back and control the vehicle. You will attest to your ability to perform these physical requirements in the Questionnaire.

Work environment: Works mostly outside and operates vehicles in all kinds of weather all types of traffic and over all types of roads. Is exposed to the danger of a serious accident. Drives at a variety of speeds. While operating a forklift may receive cuts bruises and broken bones from shifting loads toppling stacks overturning forklifts falling objects or accidents with other moving equipment.
