Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Monitor Technician / Virtual Sitter to support patient monitoring operations in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will have strong cardiac rhythm interpretation skills the ability to work rotating shifts and experience providing continuous patient observation and support.
Candidates must be certified as a Monitor Technician and successfully pass an EKG competency test during orientation.
Key Responsibilities- Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and telemetry readings
- Identify and promptly report abnormal cardiac rhythms or patient concerns to clinical staff
- Maintain accurate documentation of cardiac monitoring activities
- Provide virtual patient observation and support as assigned
- Respond appropriately to alarms and emergent situations
- Collaborate with nursing and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Ensure patient safety and adherence to hospital protocols
- Utilize EMR systems accurately and efficiently
- Full-time schedule totaling 40 hours per week
- Rotating shifts required
- Includes weekends and holidays
- Combination of 8-hour and 12-hour shifts
- Current Monitor Technician certification required
- Must successfully pass facility EKG test during orientation
- Minimum of 4 years of related experience preferred
- Current certifications may include:
- BLS
- ACLS
- PALS
- NRP
- ATT
- Strong understanding of cardiac rhythms and telemetry interpretation
- Ability to work effectively in a high-acuity healthcare setting
- Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
- Experience in telemetry monitoring and patient observation
- Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
- Ability to multitask and remain detail-oriented in a fast-paced environment
- Holiday coverage may be required
- Holiday pay eligibility is based on shifts beginning on the recognized holiday
- Active state license/certification must be maintained throughout the assignment
