The Opportunity
The Molecular Account Executive is part of the Molecular Diagnostic Division which sells thefull stack selling of Molecular productsto healthcare facilities including hospitals IDNs reference labs and womens health offices.
The Molecular Account Executive is a strategic sales professionalthatshighly skilled at driving exponential growth in their territory through closing new business and expanding existing business.

- Work across multiple stakeholders including C-suite toexpeditecomplex decisions and achieve quick wins.
- Drive market share growth byidentifyingand cultivating new business opportunities across the territory.
- Develop and deploy best practicesleveragingcustomer insights to exceed business expectations.
- Prioritize and plan effectively cutting through complexity to streamline business operations.
- Leverage cross-functional teams and resources successfully in a collaborative environment.
- Build trust and long-term partnerships with customers by understanding their needs and delivering win-win solutions.
- Anticipate sales shortfalls and implement contingency plans through effective troubleshooting and problem-solving.
- Manage complex long-term capital sales cycles with strategic foresight.
- Understand client goals through strong relationships across stakeholders (e.g. laboratory procurement medical directors clinical engineering C-suite) and quantify the impact of Abbott solutions.
- Collaborate with the Enterprise Account Manager (EAM) to secure business in large hospital systems.
- Manage and drive the renewal process to ensure customer retention and satisfaction for non-enterprise accounts.
Territory
- This is a US remote field-based role.
- Candidates must reside in territory.
- The ideal candidate would be based out of Minneapolis MN.
- The territory covers Minnesota Wisconsin Iowa U.P. of Michigan and South & North Dakota.
- Ability to travel 50% to 75% within the assigned territory and periodically throughout the United States to support business needs.
- Valid drivers license required.
RequiredQualifications
- Bachelors degree required.
- Minimum of 4 years of sales account management or related business experience.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with a polished professional presence and proven customer-facing experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to manage change champion innovation and drive new ideas through the organization.
- Strong business planning organizational and analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
- Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional service and building long-term partnerships.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook Word Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience using or comparable Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
- Thorough documentation and administrative skills including timely and accurate call/activity reporting.
PreferredQualifications
- Sale experience in diagnostics or laboratory
- 2 years of experience in capital sales or similar
- Proven success in strategic sales including exceeding plans and turning around underperforming territories.
- Experience in capital sales and/ormulti-stakeholder environments developing and selling customized solutions to senior-level/C-suite executives.
- Makes logical timely decisions based on analysis and experience
- Persuades others to support a course of action acts proactively to originate actions to improve existing conditions and process
- Ability to learn technical and scientific knowledge and utilize in selling situations
