Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security within U.S. Customs and Border Protection Office of Facilities and Asset Management Operational Support Facilities Division Border Patrol and Air and Marine Program Management Office 1 located in El Paso TX
and 1 located in Marfa TX.

Duties

This position is responsible for advanced financial analysis SAP financial system expertise and compliance with federal accounting standards and appropriations law. The position supports executive-level decision-making cross-division coordination and the preparation of high-impact reports and recommendations. This position starts at a salary of $89508.00 (GS-12 Step 1) to $116362.00 (GS-12 Step 10)

Major duties for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Providing mission support and technical services by gathering organizing and managing data to develop plans and evaluate program and partner performance.
  • Preparing reports briefings and correspondence for senior managers using internal data and agency systems to communicate findings and recommendations.
  • Serving as a point of contact for office staff offering guidance on business process trends and conducting data analyses using SAP and other management tools.
  • Researches suppliers procures goods and services reconciles purchase card statements maintains purchase documentation and tracks inventory in accordance with established procedures.
  • Assisting as a Contracting Officer Representative (COR) with statement of work development cost estimates contractor schedule review quality assurance and invoice processing.

    Qualifications

    Experience: You qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level performing duties such as:

    • Coordinating administrative or mission support activities such as tracking action items work orders reports meeting notes training records travel timekeeping or other office support requirements.
    • Using automated systems spreadsheets or databases to collect track reconcile and report information related to program operations facilities assets supplies funding or procurements.
    • Supporting budget finance purchasing or inventory activities such as tracking available funds maintaining purchase logs researching vendors preparing requisitions reconciling statements or documenting received goods.
    • Communicating with internal staff external partners vendors or contractors to resolve routine program support facilities logistics procurement or administrative issues.
    • Assisting with contract or project support activities such as preparing documentation reviewing invoices or schedules tracking deliverables or helping ensure work was completed as requested.

    You must:
    • Meet all qualification requirements including education if applicable to this position subject to verification at any stage of the application process; and

    Residency: There is a residency requirement for all applicants not currently employed by CBP. Individuals are required to have physically resided in the United States or its protectorates (as declared under international law) for at least three of the last five years.
