Mission Support Assistant

This position uses your knowledge and experience to provide clerical support and assistance with applying technical procedures methods and techniques in support of the mission and functions of the agency.

This position starts at a salary of $50460.00 (GS-07 Step 1) to $65599.00 (GS-07 Step 10) .

The Mission Support Assistant uses various systems to support the office including activities as arranging meetings and conferences managing a supervisors calendar collecting and analyzing data; duties and responsibilities include:

• Assisting higher graded staff in providing direct support to employees and managers on various policy and procedural tasks.
• Assisting in the coordination and monitoring of organizational property; maintaining an inventory of office supplies for the team to ensure availability.
• Coordinating with other employees on basic matters reports and a variety of entry-level actions using appropriate automated systems.
• Monitoring coordinating and maintaining a variety of records and generating various management reports; assisting users in the organization with basic software hardware and automation issues.

  • Providing broad assistance to other mission support personnel to include procurement of routine equipment and services preparing purchase orders assisting in identifying potential suppliers and coordinating as needed.
  • Monitoring receiving prioritizing and routing service requests.
  • Providing customer service by answering routine questions directing callers to the appropriate staff and maintaining a calendar to include major events for planning purposes.
  • Assisting in coordinating and monitoring the organizations property management and space utilization program.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer experience.

  Residency: There is a residency requirement for all applicants not currently employed by CBP. Individuals are required to have physically resided in the United States or its protectorates (as declared under international law) for at least three of the last five years.
