The Military Operations Specialist 4 serves as the Live Virtual Constructive (LVC) Integration Lead for the Navy Integration Training Environment (NITE) program operating onsite at Marine Corps Base Quantico VA. This position supports Naval Surface Warfare Center Corona (NSWC-Corona) in the planning coordination and delivery of integrated LVC training for the United States Marine Corps.
In this role the Specialist provides senior-level operational expertise in the development design and execution of LVC-supported training events. The position requires advanced knowledge of simulation systems platform integration and LVC architectures to ensure seamless interoperability across training environments.
The Military Operations Specialist 4 leads mission coordination activities and engages regularly with senior Military Government and Contractor stakeholders.
This role requires strong leadership skills the ability to translate training objectives into executable LVC events and excellent communication skills to ensure alignment across diverse technical and operational teams.
- Serve as NSWC-Coronas LVC technical and operations Subject Matter Expert (SME) in support of LVC training events.
- Communicate with leadership on any technical or operational issues and new requirements.
- Assist in leveraging LVC capabilities and strategies that align with goals of the training program.
- Oversee implementation of new systems and upgrades to existing systems ensuring they meet technical standards and training requirements.
- Work with the Marine Enterprise Training Network (MTEN) and Navy Continuous Training Environment (NCTE) local and remote operators and engineers and external Joint Live Virtual Constructive (JLVC) teams to coordinate and plan systems and personnel support for events.
- Adjust daily working hours occasionally to match times zones around the world where events are occurring.
- Occasional travel is required in support of event planning conferences.
- Use Confluence and JIRA collaborating tools to share event schedules documents and after-action reports.
- Identify document report and track issues while keeping appropriate technical personnel NSWC- Corona BSC leadership and other stakeholders informed of status.
- 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 4 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.
- Candidate must have experience developing and coordinating operational- and tacticallevel training events including integration of Live Virtual and Constructive (LVC) training environments.
- Candidate must have strong interpersonal verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with Military Government and Contractor personnel.
- Candidate must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Word Excel PowerPoint and related productivity tools.
- Candidate must be okay with occasional travel as required.
- Candidate must currently hold and be able to maintain a US Secret clearance with the ability to upgrade to a US Top Secret clearance if required.
- Prior military service leadership level highly desired.
- Tactical Training Range operations and management.
- Knowledge of Command Control Communications Computers and Intelligence (C4I) systems and operations.
- Knowledge of Marine Constructive Suite Joint Semi-Automated Forces (JSAF) simulation or other HLA/DIS modeling tools.
- USMC combat and training systems or Aviation combat and training systems.
May require working in an office industrial shipboard or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
