Job Detail:

Name of class: Minecraft Adventures 2 total classes per week

Grades: 6-8 3-5 Mondays 3 hrs wk

Should have a strong familiarity with Minecraft gameplay as well as be able to use it as a tool for foundational skills. Should understand digital citizenship and online safety. Should have the ability to make effective use of a 1-hr per wk class by providing focused engaging challenges that can connect to learning outside the classroom.

TITLE: Level A Craft Hobby and Basic Activities

REPORTS TO: Director of Sky Valley Education Center

POSITION SUMMARY: To plan organize and implement workshops teaching the fundamentals routines and/or proper techniques associated with the activity. To provide effective leadership that will ensure a positive learning environment and will stress the importance of academic achievement as well as individual student growth. To demonstrate a high degree of ethics professionalism human relations and be a positive role model for all students.

Previous experience working with school aged students in an alternative learning environment

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Teaching workshops standards of conduct and rules
  • Supervising and conducting workshops safely
  • Supporting and enforcing the Districts policies and procedures
  • Ensuring that all workshops are under direction of and supervised by the advisor
  • Teaching citizenship cooperation work ethic and responsibility
  • Monitoring attendance grades and personal conduct.
  • Ensure that students comply with district requirements and eligibility rules prior to any participation if required
  • Ensuring the availability of related student materials
  • Accompanying students on any field trips related to the activity
  • Complying with Monroe School District policies
  • Maintaining communications with school administrators and other advisors
  • Building positive public relations in the school with parents of students and in the community
  • Ensuring that discipline follows school and district protocol is fair consistent and aligned with District policies
  • Accepting responsibility for conduct of students

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is typically performed in the school setting or may be held outdoors.

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS

This position is that of non represented employee. The position will work a schedule determined by the Director of Sky Valley Education Center based on student need and interest. Salary as determined by the current salary schedule.

EVALUATION PROCEDURES

Performance shall be evaluated annually according to Board and administrative policies and procedures.
