The Position

The Litigation Summer Law Clerk position is an excellent opportunity for someone who is ambitious focused and organized to gain experience supporting a fast-paced team in a national law firm. The Law Clerk will assist our lawyers in all facets of state and federal civil litigation including legal research preparation of first drafts of pleadings motions discovery requests and responses and reports and involvement in strategy sessions.

The position requires 20 hours per week in-person at our Milwaukee office.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth legal and factual research to support active cases.
  • Analyze legal and factual issues to provide critical insights for case strategies.
  • Review documents for relevancy and legal issues ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Assist attorneys with discovery processes trial preparation and trial-related tasks gaining hands-on experience in litigation.
  • Collaborate with attorneys on drafting pleadings motions discovery requests and responses and case strategy discussions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree required. Currently enrolled as a second-year law student for the 2024-2025 academic year at an accredited law school.
  • Demonstrated experience or a strong interest in litigation and trial practice. Familiarity with litigation processes is a plus.
  • Highly organized goal-oriented and efficient with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong legal research writing and oral communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Previous work in a professional fast-paced environment is preferred.
