Job Summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative Science teacher to teach middle school during the 2026-2027 school description: To create a class environment conducive for learning and personal growth; to establish effective rapport with students; to motivate students to develop skills attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for continuing education in accordance with each students ability; to establish/foster healthy relationships with parents and other staff responsibilities:Curriculum/Planning* Annually prepare/update/submit curriculum map which includes all state standards and material covered on state assessments* Collaborate with other teachers in your content area to vertically align all curriculum maps to ensure all students success in your content area* Implement district curriculum provided by the curriculum teamsInstruction/Lessons* Present lessons that are engaging relevant and align with submitted curriculum map* Modify/Adjust instruction based upon classroom assessment data to ensure mastery of concepts* Modify instructional practices/routines in accordance with students IEP 504 ELL or Gifted identifications Assessments/Classwork* Use both formal and informal assessments throughout each lesson* Assign classwork/homework regularly that reviews or prepares for lesson* Use a variety of instructional strategies such as inquiry group discussions lecture discovery and instructional aides to engage students in active learningClassroom Management* Create positive educational climate for students* Implement a positive behavior reward system* Follow all PPA policies to help ensure uniformity of the programProfessional Development* Observe and collaborate with other teachers in the building multiple times throughout the year to for mutual growth/development in accordance with the peer observation program* Attend professional development opportunities throughout the school year or summer for your continuous improvement* Reflect and evaluate lessons/policies/practices oftenAdditional Items* Build a relationship with students and parents so that they know you want only the best for the student* Maintain a strong collaborative relationship with teachers instructional support staff etc.* Be supportive of the PPA team at all times but especially when speaking to parents and studentsPatriot Preparatory Academy began in 2010 as a K-12 public charter school.
