Job Summary
Ridgefield Academy is an independent co-educational day school serving grades Preschool-Grade 8. We are seeking basketball coaches for our Middle School girls and boys basketball program for Grades 6-8. The positions are for the winter season beginning on November 23 2026 and ending on March 2 2027
Responsibilities Include:
- Organizing and leading practices to help improve athletes fundamental skills form and stamina
- Maintaining rosters and team records
- Mentoring players to develop sportsmanship and respect for the game
- Coaching games and motivating student-athletes consistent with the schools athletic philosophy
- Being aware of safety conditions
- Adhering to the schools mission and abiding by the coaching handbook
- Communicating as needed with the Athletic Director
Requirements:
- Must have prior experience coaching basketball
- Must provide references and pass a background check
- Must have a High School diploma or GED and holding or pursuing an undergraduate degree
Coaching commitment is Monday through Thursdays from 2:30-3:30 p.m. Games are scheduled on those days at 3:45 averaging once a week. There are no Friday or weekend commitments.
This is a stipend position based on experience at $2500 - $3500 for the season.
