Microsoft Purview Consultant

Responsibilities:

- Assess and validate existing data governance plans frameworks and operating models
- Provide strategic guidance and recommendations related to Microsoft Purview implementation and adoption
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align governance policies compliance requirements and data management objectives
- Configure and implement Microsoft Purview capabilities across the enterprise environment
- Assist with data classification labeling retention compliance and data catalog initiatives
- Develop governance standards procedures and best practices
- Support integration efforts with Microsoft 365 Azure SharePoint Teams and other enterprise data sources
- Conduct gap assessments and recommend process improvements
- Provide hands-on technical support during deployment and rollout activities
- Partner with security compliance legal and IT teams to ensure governance objectives are met
- Document implementation activities governance processes and technical configurations
- Provide knowledge transfer and guidance to internal Data Governance team members

Required Qualifications:

- 5 years of experience in Data Governance Information Governance or Compliance initiatives
- Hands-on experience implementing and configuring Microsoft Purview
- Strong understanding of:
o Data governance frameworks
o Data classification and labeling
o Data lifecycle management
o Compliance and regulatory requirements
o Data cataloging and metadata management
- Experience within Microsoft 365 and Azure environments
- Ability to balance strategic consulting with hands-on technical execution
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience working with cross-functional enterprise teams

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience building or supporting newly formed Data Governance organizations
- Microsoft certifications related to Purview Security Compliance or Azure
- Experience with Data Loss Prevention (DLP) eDiscovery and information protection
- Consulting or advisory background preferred

Only one resource on the team with some knowledge of MS Purview and hes on leave so no expertise to pull from right now. Need someone that can validate the clients plan data gov strategies as they relate to Purview and help them then get hands-on keyboard to implement.
