Under the supervision of the Laboratory Supervisor the Microbiologist III is responsible for delivering high-quality pharmaceutical microbiology testing while providing excellent customer service to clients. This is a safety-sensitive role involving work with hazardous materials and pharmaceutical products.
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (flexibility required for early/late/weekend shifts)
Work Restrictions: Due to the nature of the work medical marijuana cards are not permitted and random drug testing is conducted.
Essential Functions
- Perform testing of compounded sterile and non-sterile pharmaceuticals
- Conduct sterility fungal and endotoxin testing
- Identify and isolate microorganisms
- Collaborate with scientific and business teams on technical and operational matters
- Handle client communication and provide technical support on testing
- Report and document test results
- Support daily laboratory operations to ensure compliance with SOPs cGMP and safety standards
- Mentor and assist in training junior laboratory personnel
Requirements
Position Requirements
- Associates degree in Microbiology or related field with 4 years of industry experienceOR
- Bachelors degree with 3 years of industry experienceOR
- PhD with 1 year of industry experience
- Bachelors degree in Microbiology with 3 years in the pharmaceutical industry preferred
- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
- Reliable attendance and accountability are essential
