Job Summary
Job Description
- Ensures alignment with established work processes & deliverables including all operations engineering and capital programs.
- Drives metric review and development of action plans for optimal operation of process units on a daily weekly monthly basis.
- Oversee the development and utilization of Operating KPIs to maintain safe reliable and efficient unit production.
- Leads mentors and develops Production and Process Improvement Engineers while providing technical guidance and support to engineering staff.
- Coordinates with Department Managers to effectively and efficiently utilize support team resources across site-wide initiatives.
- Collaborate with Operations Production Managers Quality Maintenance Supply Chain and Commercial teams to achieve production and customer objectives.
- Supports the delivery of best-in-class EHS&S performance through the ownership of key technical elements of PSM.
- Champions the advancement of TPC culture within the engineering organization by serving as a role model in the application of TPC values.
- Ensures that team members provide adequate and prompt support as technical experts in time sensitive work such as environmental release calculations and capital project support.
- Understands and adheres to all policies procedures and guidelines pertaining to safety health and environmental emphasizing this perspective in their own work and in the work of others.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in chemical engineering with a minimum of 8 years of experience in a chemicals refining or petrochemical manufacturing environment.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in supervision of technical or operating staff.
- Excellent critical thinking leadership analytical and communication skills.
- Experience with PSM 1910.119 as well as EPA RMP and its functional application to manufacturing.
- Experience with process historian and data monitoring tools such as IP21 OSI PI or SEEQ.
- Experience with Aspen or similar process modeling tools.
- Strong understanding of PHA MOC and PSM compliance metrics.
- Knowledge of Process Safety design concepts and documentation requirements and their application.
- Experience with Capital Project development and execution including FEL and Stage Gate concepts.
Preferred Requirements:
- Knowledge of Oracle SAP or similar ERP database management systems.
- Certification in Root Cause Analysis methodologies.
- Practical experience with extractive distillation operations.
- Experience with cost control developing and tracking annual budgets.
