Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Research develop evaluate and revise communication polices and procedures. Disseminate and interpret application of Police and Fire Department policy and procedure to SCCDS.
  • Conduct audits and prepare reports of individual cellular usage.
  • Confer with Police and Fire department division heads regarding department policy and operating needs.
  • Co-administer telephone and voicemail systems in the Municipal Center complex. Assist in troubleshooting phone and voicemail problems.
  • Maintain database of City-wide cellular inventory Police department inventory office and desk key assignments and Police and Fire department pager inventory.
  • Compile statistical reports maintain various records reports and correspondence.


Required Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess knowledgeskills and mental development equivalent to completion of two years ofcollege along with two years of related administrative experience. Previousexperience in emergency communications is highly preferred.

Preference for employment in all positions with the city shall be given to applicants who are full-time city residents.

To be eligible to apply current City employees must have completed their probationary period and attained certified status in their current position.
