Dexco Racking Systems is seeking a strong hands-on Production Supervisor to lead its second-shift metal fabrication operation. The facility manufactures heavy-duty structural-steel racking systems and performs welding fabrication sawing punching blasting powder coating and robotic welding.
This is primarily a people-leadership and production-execution role. The successful candidate must know how to lead manufacturing employees establish accountability maintain a stable and productive workforce and consistently achieve measurable safety quality output labor-efficiency and delivery goals.
The supervisor will spend approximately 80% of the shift on the production floor.
- 3 years of production-supervision experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 3 years of experience within metalworking metal fabrication structural steel welding machining or a closely related operation.
- Proven success managing motivating training and holding production employees accountable.
- Demonstrated job stability and a consistent employment history.
- Proven ability to measure document and improve productivity against production goals or KPIs.
- Experience scheduling work assigning labor managing priorities and meeting daily production requirements.
- Working knowledge of welding and metal-fabrication processes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints or technical drawings.
- Experience using an ERP or manufacturing production system.
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and continuous-improvement principles.
- Willingness and ability to work the permanent 2:00-10:00 PM shift.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment.
- Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds and participate in team lifts of up to 100 pounds.
- Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Experience supervising multiple metalworking processes such as welding robotic welding sawing punching blasting fabrication or powder coating.
- Structural-steel or heavy-fabrication experience.
- Experience with robotic welding setup programming troubleshooting or quality control.
- Experience implementing 5S reducing waste improving labor utilization or increasing throughput.
- Experience leading second- or third-shift operations.
- Experience managing timekeeping employee performance attendance and corrective action.
- Lead coach and develop second-shift production employees.
- Create a visible accountable safety-first shop-floor culture.
- Schedule production activities and assign employees based on workload priorities and capabilities.
- Track and document productivity labor efficiency downtime quality and other operational KPIs.
- Take corrective action when production performance falls below expectations.
- Oversee welding fabrication sawing punching blasting powder coating and related operations.
- Ensure finished work meets blueprint quality safety and customer requirements.
- Train employees conduct performance discussions and address attendance or behavioral issues.
- Identify bottlenecks production delays equipment problems and labor inefficiencies.
- Lead Lean manufacturing 5S waste-reduction and continuous-improvement efforts.
- Coordinate with first-shift leadership maintenance quality and senior management.
- Review and approve employee timekeeping records.
- Remain actively engaged on the production floor for approximately 80% of the shift.
