Description

JES Tech is seeking a Mental Health Counselor to join the Behavioral Health Services (BHS) team supporting employees at the DOE Hanford Site. This role is part of a multidisciplinary occupational health team focused on supporting employee wellbeing workplace safety and readiness for work.


The Mental Health Counselor will provide brief counseling mental health assessments crisis support employee education and referrals for employees navigating personal or work-related concerns. You will also collaborate with psychologists physicians Human Resources and other occupational health professionals to support employees while maintaining appropriate clinical confidentiality.


This is a great opportunity for a clinician who enjoys combining direct client care with workplace behavioral health education and prevention.


What Youll Do
  • Provide brief individual marital and family counseling for personal and work-related concerns.
  • Conduct mental health assessments develop treatment plans provide psychoeducation and coordinate referrals for additional care when needed.
  • Provide crisis intervention and case management support as appropriate.
  • Consult with Human Resources and other appropriate stakeholders regarding workplace concerns while maintaining required confidentiality.
  • Develop and deliver workshops seminars and employee education on mental health wellbeing substance abuse prevention and other workplace health topics.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community mental health providers to support effective employee referrals and continuity of care.
  • Collaborate with psychologists physicians and other members of the occupational medicine team.
  • Support fitness-for-duty and return-to-work readiness evaluations when appropriate and within the scope of licensure and supervision.
  • Participate in substance abuse monitoring and assessment activities including DOT-related evaluations and recommendations for education treatment follow-up testing and aftercare as qualified.
  • Maintain accurate timely and confidential clinical documentation.
  • Participate in quality improvement regulatory compliance and accreditation activities.
  • Perform other related duties as needed to support the Behavioral Health Services program.

Requirements


Required

  • Masters degree in Social Work Counseling Psychology or a related behavioral health field.
  • Current Washington State license or credential permitting the provision of counseling services; associate-level licensure will be considered.
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical practice experience.
  • Experience providing brief counseling or therapeutic interventions for a range of personal behavioral health and work-related concerns.
  • Strong clinical judgment and ability to respond effectively in emergency crisis or high-stress situations.
  • Ability to maintain appropriate confidentiality and handle sensitive health information in accordance with applicable privacy requirements including HIPAA and the Privacy Act.
  • Strong interpersonal written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and maintain accurate timely clinical documentation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Outlook and standard office technology.
  • U.S. citizenship or U.S. national status and the ability to successfully qualify for and maintain the security clearance/access authorization required for the position.

Preferred

  • Experience in occupational health Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) or workplace behavioral health.
  • Experience with fitness-for-duty and/or return-to-work assessments.
  • Experience evaluating substance use disorders and supporting employer drug and alcohol monitoring programs.
  • Knowledge of DOT and/or DOE drug- and alcohol-related requirements.
  • Experience developing and delivering mental health education workshops or employee training.
  • Experience collaborating with Human Resources management safety personnel and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
Compensation & Benefits

$45$50 per hour based on qualifications and experience.
