Melt Shop Shift Millwright-NSKNG

The role of the Shift Millwright is primarily two fold. First to be a great Nucor team member who demonstrates high levels of ownership in everything they do. Second is to ensure the success of the team by SAFELY performing Preventative and Corrective maintenance on steel mill equipment and systems as well as proposing and implementing solutions to challenges in the steel making process and business. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate lead and uphold safety policies practices procedures and housekeeping standards at all times.

• Mechanical skills and fundamental knowledge
• Experience troubleshooting mechanical systems
• 2 or more years in a steel mill
• Willingness to work nights weekends and holidays as needed

• Maintenance Systems and Techniques- Knowledge of servicing repairing adjusting and testing equipment systems and processes.
• Attention to Detail- Thorough in accomplishing tasks no matter how small they may be and taking care to make sure that expectations are met.
• Communication Skills- The ability to give full attention to what others are saying and communicating information so that others will understand.
• Problem Solving & Judgement/Decision Making- Identifying problems gathering and reviewing relevant information and weighing options to make informed decisions and take effective action.

• Experience in Rolling Mill & Melt Shop mechanical/electrical maintenance
• 2-year degree in mechanical/electrical or related field
• Willingness to work nights weekends and holidays as needed
