Nucor Steel-Jackson is seeking a Melt Shop Maintenance Mechanic who will promote safety as our #1 value while ensuring consistency and reliability in Melt Shop operations.
- The Maintenance Mechanic will be part of the team responsible for the maintenance reliability improvement and upgrades of equipment.
- The Maintenance Mechanic will work closely with the production teams and other members of the maintenance team and shall be capable of covering maintenance issues on shift and/or days as a mechanic.
- Coordinate with operations maintenance supervisor and other departments to schedule maintenance activities.
- Be willing to take the necessary training to stay up to date with the EBS software.
- Be willing to work more than scheduled time weekends and holidays if needed.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate lead and uphold safety policies practices procedures and housekeeping standards at all times.
- 2 Years experience in Steel Mill Maintenance
- Ability to work rotating shifts overtime weekends and holidays as needed
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Knowledgeable in pipe fitting coupling alignment pneumatics hudraulics welding machine tool
- Certification in Insdustrial Maintenance
- Certification in Welding
- Computer Skills
- Demonstrate Leadership abilities
