Job Description:

Vitalant is hiring newly graduated and experienced Medical Laboratory Scientists to bring skilled technical support to our high complexity testing reference laboratories.

• Perform high complexity testing in immunohematology including antibody identification antigen typing absorptions elution and cross match.(Ref Lab)
• Perform production processing and labeling of blood components and blood donations (Manu Lab)
• Provide technical support to hospital transfusion services.
• Review and report test results participate in investigative studies participate in quality control preventative maintenance and validations.

• Bachelors degree in biology Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent (must receive MLS certification within 6 months of eligibility)
• or
• Bachelors degree in approved Science (Biology Chemistry etc) and currently possess certification from an accredited agency as MT/MLS
• State licensure as required by regulations

• 0-2 years of relevant laboratory experience meeting Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist educational requirements
• or
• 5 years or more experience as Medical Laboratory Technician

Bachelors degree in a chemical biological medical technology or clinical laboratory science required or equivalent education training and/or experience with certification as a Medical Technologist by a recognized certifying agency.

Medical Laboratory Technician with Associates degree with experience in high complexity testing and meets state licensure defined criteria.

Certification as a Medical Technologist/MLS/BB by a recognized certifying agency required (or must receive certification within 12 months).

State licensure (as required by regulations).

0-2 years of relevant laboratory experience meeting Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist educational requirements OR 5 years or more experience for the Medical Laboratory Technician.
