Medical Coder

We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Medical Coder to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing patient records to assign accurate codes for diagnoses procedures and services provided. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology anatomy and coding guidelines including ICD-10 CPT and HCPCS Level II codes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review clinical documentation to ensure accurate coding of diagnoses and procedures.
• Assign appropriate codes based on medical records ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and regulations.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and ensure completeness.
• Maintain coding accuracy and productivity standards while adhering to deadlines.
• Stay updated on changes in coding regulations billing procedures and healthcare laws.
• Participate in quality assurance audits and contribute to improving coding practices.
• Provide support and training to other staff members as needed.

Qualifications:

• Certification in medical coding (e.g. CPC CCS CCA) is preferred.
• Previous experience in medical coding preferably in a pediatric or healthcare setting.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology anatomy and coding systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in coding.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and coding software.
