Medical Assistant / Phlebotomist Primary Care Practice

Our client is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant / Phlebotomist to join their growing primary care team serving patients in Venice and North Port Florida. This position is ideal for an experienced Medical Assistant with a strong phlebotomy background who enjoys providing compassionate patient-centered care in a fast-paced medical office.

The Position

The Medical Assistant / Phlebotomist is responsible for supporting physicians with both clinical and administrative duties while ensuring an outstanding patient experience. This role will primarily focus on phlebotomy while also assisting with patient intake rooming vital signs medical records and front office support as needed.

Schedule: Monday Friday Day Shift

Starting Pay: $20.00 per hour (Based on Experience)

Responsibilities

  • Perform venipuncture and specimen collection with a high level of accuracy.
  • Welcome room and prepare patients for provider visits.
  • Obtain and document patient histories vital signs height and weight.
  • Prepare examination and procedure rooms.
  • Assist physicians with examinations procedures and treatments.
  • Schedule appointments diagnostic testing and follow-up visits.
  • Process medical records prior authorizations and test results.
  • Maintain accurate documentation within the EMR/EHR system.
  • Assist with front office responsibilities as needed.
  • Provide exceptional customer service while ensuring patient confidentiality.
  • Collaborate with providers and clinical staff to promote efficient patient flow.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of Medical Assistant experience.
  • Strong phlebotomy experience is required.
  • Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR).
  • Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Previous medical records experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
