Location: Port Jefferson Patchogue & Smithtown NY

Hours/Days: 5 8.5 hour days Mon-Fri between 7:30am-8pm

Organization: New York Health (NYH) - OBGYN

In this role you will:

• Manage patient intakes ensuring accurate information recording
• Collect and process lab specimens including venipuncture and diagnostic tests
• Record patients vital signs
• Prepare patients for examinations
• Sterilize medical equipment and instruments
• Assist providers and other support staff in the data entry process
• Assist physicians during visits with examinations and all office procedures
• Perform EKGs and point-of-care testing
• Other duties as assigned

We require:

• A Medical Assistant Certificate and a High School Diploma
• Proficiency with an EMR system (Preferred)
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer standing bending and reaching
• Knowledge of standard precautions and the ability to utilize appropriate PPE when handling bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
• Reliable transportation to travel to NYH locations for patient care needs

Salary: Starting at $22 per hour
