Job Summary
The incumbent works at the W.G. (Bill) Hefner VA Medical Center (VAMC) located in Salisbury North Carolina in Chief of Staff Office (COS). This position has responsibility for reporting and setting up clinic profiles within the Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VISTA) computer system.
Major duties include but are not limited to:
- Communicates to the clinic profile manager related primarily to access and clinic profile management and appraised of events and decisions which could have a significant impact on the successful operation of the clinic profiles and other Data Quality programs.
- Effectively build slots manages slot conversion leaf portal requests for clinic profile build simple clinical profiles as assigned.
- Effectively and accurately update information associated with clinic names including clinic address phone numbers and other related information.
- Always available on teams to provide excellent customer services to scheduling staff and clinical services.
- Performs data retrieval and analysis of abstracted data for Medical Center management and clinic staff for validation (example: VistA CPRS reports etc.). Incumbent validates national reports against local reports of workload statistics.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm
Telework: Adhoc as determined by agency policy.

Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-7 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-6. The grade may have been in any occupation but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade as required by the this instance you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:
- Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-6 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include but are not limited to: experience where you were responsible for providing administrative support functions within a healthcare facility; experienced with procurement processes necessary to obtain goods and services for an office; performing automation duties using such software applications such as word processing spreadsheet electronic mail desktop publishing calendar database and/or graphics; assisting in the formulation and execution of budget estimates to include updating budget spreadsheets which are used in briefings; collecting compiling and tracking data and information; and researching reference materials regulations and standards to identify appropriate action necessary to correct problems or issues. NOTE: Experience must be fully documented on your resume and must include job title duties month and year start/end dates AND hours worked per week.
