Job Summary
Title: Mechanical Test Engineer
Location: Northridge CA (100% onsite)
Duration:6month contract long-term/reoccurring extensions & conversion to FTE possible
Compensation:$80/hr - $90/hr
Work Requirements: Export Control Requirement - Due to applicable export control laws and regulations candidates must be a U.S. Citizen.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Develop test plans procedures and assembly instructions for satellite subassemblies and mechanical integration.
- Coordinate environmental testing both in-house and with external test facilities.
- Support mechanical integration assembly and troubleshooting of aerospace hardware.
- Create and maintain engineering documentation and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Collaborate with engineering manufacturing quality and test teams to meet project milestones and improve processes.
Core Requirements
- 5 years mechanical engineering/integration experience in aerospace or avionics
- Proven experience writing test plans test procedures and assembly instructions for complex aerospace hardware
- Hands-on familiarity with environmental qualification testing: thermal vibration shock
- Experience with GSE/MGSE (Ground Support Equipment / Mechanical GSE) supporting design use or maintenance
- Solid grounding in mechanical assembly fundamentals: GD&T torque specs ESD procedures tooling
Nice-to-Have Skills
- SolidWorks Siemens NX or Siemens Xpedition (XP)
- Exposure to PLM/PDM MRP QMS or configuration management tools
- AS9100 familiarity
