About the Role: The Mechanical Maintenance Technician also known as Maintenance Mechanic or Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the reliability performance and safety of mechanical equipment in a fast-paced production or logistics environment. This is a 2nd shift position working 2:00 PM to 11:30 PM and includes a $1000 sign-on bonus. This role focuses on preventive maintenance troubleshooting and repair of machinery with added emphasis on PLC systems to support automation and minimize downtime.
Responsibilities:
Perform routine preventive maintenance on mechanical systems conveyors motors pumps and production equipment.
Diagnose mechanical issues using troubleshooting techniques and repair faulty components to restore equipment functionality.
Troubleshoot and support PLC-controlled equipment including identifying faults in automated systems and coordinating repairs.
Inspect machinery for wear and defects replacing parts such as bearings belts gears and seals as needed.
Maintain and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems ensuring proper operation and safety compliance.
Read and interpret technical manuals blueprints electrical schematics and PLC logic diagrams.
Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to improve equipment performance automation efficiency and system reliability.
Document maintenance activities repairs PLC updates and parts usage in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
Follow safety protocols lockout tagout procedures and regulatory standards to maintain a safe work environment.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent technical training or certification in industrial maintenance mechanical systems or related field preferred.
Proven experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Technician Maintenance Mechanic or Industrial Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing or logistics setting.
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems including conveyors motors gearboxes and rotating equipment.
Hands-on experience with PLC systems including basic troubleshooting fault diagnostics and working knowledge of ladder logic.
Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems maintenance and repair.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints schematics electrical diagrams and PLC documentation.
Proficiency with hand tools power tools and diagnostic equipment.
Understanding of preventive maintenance programs and reliability best practices.
Knowledge of workplace safety standards including OSHA regulations and lockout tagout procedures.
Desired Qualifications:
Associate degree or vocational certification in mechanical maintenance mechatronics automation or a related field.
Experience working with automated systems material handling equipment or distribution center operations.
Familiarity with CMMS software for tracking maintenance activities and asset management.
Experience with PLC programming HMI interfaces and industrial automation systems.
Basic electrical troubleshooting skills including working knowledge of motors sensors and control systems.
