Mechanical Inspector
Start- ASAP; 12-15month duration
Overview
Field-based Mechanical Inspector for a large active power generation facility. Youll walk down P&IDs and read prints to confirm mechanical and piping work is installed per drawings specs and applicable codes. This is a hands-on field role with full days spent on foot moving through the site.
Responsibilities
- Walk down P&IDs in the field and verify installations against drawings and specifications
- Read and interpret prints isometrics and mechanical drawings
- Inspect piping equipment valves supports and bolted connections for code and spec compliance
- Document inspections write reports and track punch-list items to closure
- Coordinate daily with construction QC and client representatives on site
Qualifications
- Prior mechanical or piping inspection experience on power generation EPC or heavy industrial projects
- Strong ability to read and interpret P&IDs isometrics and mechanical prints
- Working knowledge of applicable mechanical and piping codes (e.g. ASME B31.1 (power piping))
- Relevant certifications a plus (API AWS CWI NACE/AMPP)
Physical Demands
This is an active field role with significant physical requirements. Candidates should be able to:
- Walk long distances throughout the shift across large job sites and uneven open terrain
- Climb ladders stairs and scaffolding and work at elevation
- Stand bend stoop kneel crouch and reach for extended periods
- Work outdoors in all conditions including extreme heat and cold
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Wear required PPE (hard hat FR clothing steel-toe boots safety glasses) for full shifts
