About the Role
Reporting to theMechanical Engineering ManagertheMechanicalEngineer IIis responsible fordesigning and developing innovative mechanical solutions for water-monitoring products and systems.
This roleprovidesthe opportunity to own mechanical design activities across small-to-medium strategic projects supporting products from concept through production.Youllwork on highly engineered sensing solutions that must meet demanding performance durability quality and reliability requirements in challenging field environments.
This position is part of theResearch & DevelopmentteamlocatedinFort Collins Coloradoand will beonsite.
In This Role a Typical Day Will Look Like:
Own the mechanical design and development of submersible sensors and other water-monitoring products from concept through production.
Create and release 3D CAD models detailed drawings BOMs and technical documentation while ensuring designs are manufacturable reliable and cost-effective.
Partner closely with R&Dteams manufacturing product management supply chain and suppliers to drive successful product development and launch activities.
Lead product testing troubleshooting and root-cause investigations to improve product quality reliability and long-term performance.
Apply engineering analysis and data-driven decision makingincluding FEA thermal structural and tolerance assessmentsto solve complex design challenges and support small-to-medium project execution.
The Essential Requirements of the Job Include:
Bachelors degree in mechanical engineeringor related engineering discipline with2 years of professional mechanical engineering or product design experience.
Proficiencywith3D CAD design tools includingthe creationof models assemblies drawings and technical documentation.
Experience supporting mechanical product development projects including design testing troubleshooting and production support.
Ability to workon siteat one of Otts R&D Centers with legal authorization to work in the country of employment.
Strong understanding of mechanical components assemblies manufacturing methods and engineering problem solving.
It Would BeaPlus If You Also Have:
SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM experience.
Experience with FEA tolerance analysis and mechanical testing.
Experience designing molded and machined components.
Experience with lean manufacturing principles.
Experience developing instrumentation sensors ruggedized products or submersible devices.
Experience withopto-mechanical design.

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An associates position within the salary range will be based on several factors including but not limited to relevant education qualifications certifications experience skills seniority geographic location performance shift travel requirements sales or revenue-based metrics any collective bargaining agreements and business or organizational needs.
The compensation range for this role is $85000 - $100000 USD per job is also eligible for Bonus Pay.We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
