The Naval Nuclear Laboratory Field Construction Engineering organization is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join a multi-disciplined group of civil structural mechanical and electrical engineers to interface with system/ infrastructure engineers and architect engineering and construction subcontractors and provide technical knowledge for the execution of projects at the Naval Reactors Facility located on the Idaho National Laboratory site.
This role works within a project execution team environment with a Project Manager Contract Administrator Project Analyst Construction Oversight personnel and other Engineers to deliver projects in the construction portfolio ranging from short duration (<1yr) to multi-year multi-million-dollar major capital improvement projects for the renovation of aging infrastructure and systems.
- Knowledge of infrastructure design and construction
- Knowledge of industry and building trade practice techniques codes and standards
- Experience with contracting construction services ideally both at NRF and outside of NNL
- Experience with construction project scoping development and execution
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and computer aided design (CAD) drafting software
- Able to work independently and handle multiple tasks concurrently
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of personnel management subcontractors and government oversight

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion LLC (FMP) a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor Corporation.
