Mechanical Engineer Co-Op
As a Mechanical Engineer Coop you will work with a team to provide mechanical engineering designs for largescale capital projects and support multiple sites and projects concurrently; you will collaborate closely with other Mechanical Engineers and project team members at a local level to help deliver safe reliable and efficient manufacturing operations; this is a handson learning opportunity where you apply your academic knowledge to realworld engineering challenges in a dynamic diverse environment.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role are to:
- Prepare project mechanical specifications and summaries for design packages;
- Review equipment vendor drawings and support construction activities at manufacturing sites;
- Support engineers in the development of mechanical equipment specifications and construction drawings;
- Contribute to the development of equipment checkout plans and support project checkout and startup at manufacturing sites;
- Apply basic project management skills to help coordinate tasks timelines and deliverables;
- Collaborate with other Mechanical Engineers and project team members to solve problems and implement practical engineering solutions.
WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications:
- Pursuing a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering;
- Must have completed at least 1 year of a Bachelors program.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale;
- General mechanical aptitude and interest in applying engineering principles to realworld projects;
- Strong written and oral communication skills;
- Good problemsolving skills and a high degree of personal initiative;
- Excellent organization and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks;
- Ability to work well in a team environment and within a diverse culture;
- No travel limitations.
Employees can expect to be paid a salary of approximately between $26.00 to $31.50. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care vision dental retirement PTO sick leave etc..
