Position: Structural Analysis Engineer
Location: Mossville/Chillicothe Illinois
Duration: 01 year of initial contract (Extendable)
Job Responsibilities:
- Create and use Finite Element Analysis models either individually or in collaboration with supplier firm
- Log quality issues and arrange for corrections to models
- Perform model setup submit jobs to high-performance computing cluster
- Perform simulations of static modal and dynamic simulations
- Develop understanding of design mechanical capacity for strength and fatigue
- Author reports containing assumptions models and results
- Draw conclusions and make recommendations to design simulation and validation partners
- Contribute to and participate in peer reviews
- Contribute to improvements in simulation methods and processes
Tasks:
- Perform structural system analysis and simulation for structural integrity response performance and service life of aftertreatment and/or cooling components and systems
- Provide product design and development teams with timely conclusions and best actionable recommendations and solutions
- Work to continuously improve the accuracy of analysis processes and tools.
Technical Skills:
(Required)
- Understanding of dynamics material properties and fatigue
- Experience with structural simulations for static vibration transient dynamic boundary and material nonlinear fracture and fatigue life bolted joint and welded structures
- Experience with ABAQUS and Hypermesh
- Experience in machine dynamic simulation Experiences in nonmetallic structural simulation user defined material behavior modeling and component interaction modeling
- Experiences in machine and structural design and validation
- Pro/E skills sufficient for FE model preparation
Education & Experience Required:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or Related Engineering Field plus 05-07 years of experience
- MS plus 02-04 years of experience
- PhD plus 01-02 years of experience
- Industrial experience in structural analysis preferably with a focus on static and/or dynamic analysis
