Job Summary

PGS Worldwide is seeking Mechanical Design Engineers in Orlando Florida for an approximately six-month hybrid contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. These positions will support the design and development of mechanical and electromechanical products with an emphasis on learning and supporting cable and circuit card assembly (CCA) design using Creo.

Required Skills
  • Bachelors degree required.
  • 2 years of experience using Creo.
  • 2 years of mechanical and/or electrical design experience.
  • Experience developing engineering layouts sketches drawings or design concepts.
  • Ability to evaluate design considerations including manufacturability material availability equipment requirements interchangeability strength-to-weight efficiency specifications and cost.
  • Ability to review engineering layouts and drawings for accuracy completeness and compliance with applicable standards and specifications.
  • Ability to identify design errors omissions and deficiencies and recommend appropriate corrections.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with engineering manufacturing and other cross-functional organizations.
  • Willingness to learn cable design and circuit card assembly design.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Skills
  • Mechanical design experience in an aerospace defense electronics or other high-reliability environment.
  • Electrical or electromechanical design experience.
  • Experience supporting cable harness or circuit card assembly design.
  • Experience developing products intended for manufacturing or production environments.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
What Youll Do
  • Design major components and portions of functional systems and technically advanced products.
  • Develop and improve products while supporting manufacturing requirements.
  • Develop preliminary layouts sketches and engineering notes to support design proposals.
  • Evaluate design factors including manufacturability materials equipment interchangeability strength weight specifications and cost.
  • Coordinate design activities with engineering manufacturing and other affected organizations.
  • Develop layouts of assemblies components mechanisms structures and products.
  • Review completed layouts and drawings for clarity completeness dimensional accuracy and compliance with applicable standards.
  • Identify design errors or deficiencies and recommend revisions or improvements.
  • Develop skills in the design of cables and circuit card assemblies.
  • Support progression into broader electromechanical design responsibilities.
Pay
  • $53.65 per hour.
  • Overtime eligible.
