Mechanical Construction Project Manager

Skillforce has teamed up with a leading mechanical contractor to find a skilled Mechanical Construction Project Manager to work on their commercial and industrial projects.

This is a full-time direct hire position based out of Charleston SC with occasional local travel.

Mechanical Construction Project Manager Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $110-$150k depending on experience level

Mechanical Construction Project Manager Key Responsibilities

• Manage project startup contracts permits submittals RFIs change orders and project documentation.
• Review drawings specifications and contracts to identify scope gaps conflicts and constructability issues.
• Oversee procurement project buyout vendor relationships purchase orders and long-lead materials.
• Manage project budgets forecasts cost tracking billing invoicing and change orders.
• Monitor project schedules manpower needs milestones and recovery plans.
• Conduct jobsite visits and ensure work meets project specifications codes and quality standards.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for owners GCs architects engineers vendors and other stakeholders.
• Participate in BIM/VDC coordination and support field installation planning.
• Partner with the Superintendent to resolve issues and maintain field productivity.
• Oversee commissioning punch lists O&M manuals warranties as-builts and final closeout.
• Mentor junior project staff and promote a professional accountable team environment.

Mechanical Construction Project Manager Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; related degree preferred.
• 7 years of commercial mechanical construction experience including 5 years managing projects.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC plumbing piping and sheet metal systems.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings specifications contracts and schedules.
• Strong financial organizational communication and negotiation skills.
• Valid drivers license.
• Mechanical contracting Design-Build BIM/VDC and OSHA 30 experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Procore Bluebeam and Microsoft Office preferred.
