Were looking for aMechanic 4 to join our Patrol Division to perform basic repairs and preventative maintenance on our fleet of emergency vehicles in a mechanic repair shop. The Mechanic 4 plays a key role in repairing and ensuring our fleet of patrol vehicles is properly maintained.

Minimum Qualifications

Three years of experience or training as a mechanic.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

As a Mechanic Supervisor A you will be instrumental repairing and performing preventative maintenance of our fleet of patrol this role you will:

  • Performs repair/maintenance and inspection related activities on vehicles and small engines
  • Perform oil changes lubrication filter proper fluid levels radiator hose batteries etc.
  • Checks lighting and wiring systems to ensure proper operation of emergency lighting systems headlights spotlights taillights and parking lights
  • Locates causes of malfunction by inspecting major component parts such as gears rings pistons rods gaskets crankshafts valves seals etc. Orders and installs replacement parts
  • May inspect work performed by contract vendors
  • May operate wrecker to recover and transport inoperative vehicles.


Position-Specific Details:

Appointment Type: Probational Promotional or Job Appointment

Career Progression: This position does not participate in a Career Progression Group.

Work Schedule: Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday - Friday.

Compensation:$25.31- $46.41 Hourly

$2024.80- $3712.80 Bi-Weekly
