Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage episodic and chronic conditions with walk-ins and same-day appointments as the sole advanced practice provider for ages 2 and up.
- Perform physicals such as sports DOT pre-employment and annual.
- Evaluate patients for workers compensation injuries.
- Evaluating diagnosing and treating acute illnesses and injuries
- Performing procedures such as suturing splinting incision and drainage and wound care
- Ordering and independently interpreting diagnostic tests including X-rays laboratory work and 12-lead EKGs
- Prescribing medications and therapies in accordance with Maryland regulations and clinic protocols
- Educating patients and families regarding diagnoses treatment plans medications and follow-up care
- Accurately and efficiently documenting patient encounters
- Collaborating with clinical and operational team members to provide a convenient caring and high-quality patient experience
Qualifications:
- Active and unrestricted Maryland Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license or eligibility to obtain one
- Current certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- At least two years of clinical experience as an FNP or PA-C
- Active DEA registration or ability to obtain one
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Ability to perform common urgent care procedures including suturing splinting incision and drainage and wound care
- Ability to independently interpret X-rays and other diagnostic test results
- Strong clinical judgment communication and patient-service skills
- Preferred Experience
- Experience in urgent care emergency medicine primary care family medicine or internal medicine
- Experience practicing in a fast-paced or high-volume clinical environment
- Hourly Rate or Salary Range: Exact compensation may vary based on skills experience and location.
