Partner with tooling and functional teams to evaluate design and processes at the concept phasenDevelop measurement technologies control strategies information systems and manufacturing methods that achieve ambitious specifications at substantial production scalenDevelop and implement groundbreaking quality inspection tools to evaluate cosmetic and dimensional part characteristicsnCompile and evaluate data to determine appropriate limits and variables for process and part specificationsnLead activities to balance unparalleled quality with scalable yieldsnCollaborate with internal and external groups to ensure that proper definition of quality expectations and that appropriate assurance techniques are used for the productnCoordinate and prioritize all Quality Engineering functions for multiple program for team membersnEstablish audit procedures appropriate to program and supplier to ensure alignment to Apple quality standardsnEvaluate and communicate yields of new and existing processesnDrive corrective actions with internal and external team membersn

10 years of experience in manufacturing and Quality ControlnBS/MS in Material Science or Engineering (Mechanical Engineering Industrial Engineering Manufacturing Engineering Manufacturing systems engineering Chemical engineering or similar)nTravel internationally to supplier sites - 30%

Experience developing process quality plans supplier quality audits and driving corrective actions and failure analysis knowledge of material science metallurgy mechanical quality and reliability concepts supplier management and general manufacturing with the development and evaluation of measurement systemsnProject management experience and a solid understanding of problem solving tools including design of experiments root cause analysis and statistical analytical toolsnExperience in a metals manufacturing environmentnExperience with any of the following:nAnalytical tools such as SEM EDX Metallographic Preparation FTIR GC/Mass SpecnGeneral materials test suite such as tensile bend corrosion fatigue crack propagation experience particularly in Asia is a plus
