Job Summary

Sika Corporation is looking to hire a Material Manager (MM) to join its growing team in Canton MA to support the Roofing business.  The MM is a hands-on operational role responsible for ensuring the effective execution of the production plan through detailed production scheduling and reliable raw material and packaging availability.

The role translates the Master Production Schedule provided by Supply Chain Planning into an executable detailed production schedule considering production capabilities material availability operational constraints and priorities.

In addition the Material Manager owns the operational management of raw material and packaging supply and directly manages the Raw Material & Packaging Buyer.

This position serves as a key interface between Supply Chain Planning Production Procurement Warehouse and suppliers and plays a critical role in ensuring production continuity and schedule adherence.

  • Translate the weekly/bi-weekly Master Production Schedule into a detailed and executable production schedule.
  • Personally own and execute the detailed production scheduling process including production sequence frequency timing and short-term scheduling adjustments.
  • Ensure the detailed schedule reflects production capabilities operational constraints material availability and agreed business priorities.
  • Own the availability of raw materials and packaging required to execute the production schedule.
  • Translate production requirements into clear material priorities and purchasing requirements.
  • Directly manage coach and develop the Raw Material & Packaging Buyer.
  • Maintain relevant production scheduling material planning and procurement information in SAP.

Qualifications :

  • Several years of experience in production planning detailed scheduling material planning procurement or manufacturing operations.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes production scheduling and material flow.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in a hands-on role while also providing leadership and direction to team members.
  • Experience with SAP or a comparable ERP/planning system.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly identify constraints and drive solutions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to changing production and supply conditions.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Experience working with suppliers and managing material availability is preferred.
  • Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Operations Engineering Business or a related field preferred but not required. Relevant manufacturing and planning experience may substitute for formal education.
