Materials Analyst, TEM

The Advanced Microscopy team is looking for an experienced Materials Analyst with a background in operating and analyzing materials using TEM (Transmission Electron Microscopy). This is a handson productionfocused role centered on supporting advanced materials and semiconductor analysis for clients across multiple industries.

The successful candidate will be a strong technical contributor who thrives in a fastpaced lab environment enjoys focused tool time and values producing highquality sitespecific results within defined client timelines.

A typical day will consist of various activities including:

• Obtaining bright field high resolution diffraction patterns dark field TEM and HAADF STEM images of prepared samples 
• Obtaining STEM/EDX and STEM/EELS spectra line scans and maps 
• Organizing data prepare and deliver summary reports to customers
• Partnering with customers and team members to optimize experiments and explain results
• Developing TEM analysis protocols for new sample types

Work Schedule: *5pm-2am - Tuesdays to Saturdays

*Shift differential will apply

Qualifications :

• BS or MS only: Materials Science and Engineering or related field or equivalent industry experience
• Excellent operation and theory understanding of Transmission Electron Microscope 
• Experience with TEM sample preparation and hard materials characterization
• Solid understanding of one or more areas of electron microscopy semiconductor device physics and failure analysis

What would set you apart:

• Familiarity with aberration-correction TEM
• Familiarity with FEI Tecnai TEM/STEM Oxford/Bruker EDS Gatan EELS Digital Micrograph

Additional Information :

Compensation is aligned with market standards for the region and tailored to individual qualifications and experience.

Physical Requirements:  

• Ability to communicate clearly and understandably with sufficient volume to ensure an accurate exchange of information in normal conversational distance over the telephone and in a group setting
• Ability to continuously operate a personal computer for extended periods of time (4 or more hours)
• Ability to lift to 10 lbs.
• Physical dexterity sufficient to use hands arms and shoulders repetitively to operate a keyboard and other office equipment. 
• Ability to use a telephone access file cabinets receive and ship customer products
• Ability to sit for periods of time
