Position Summary
We are seeking a safety-focused and reliable Material Handler to support operations at a mechanical recycling facility in Jurupa Valley CA. This role is responsible for the safe movement of raw materials and finished products throughout the facility with a primary focus on forklift operation material handling and supporting recycling process operations. Position Summary
We are seeking a safety-focused and reliable Material Handler to support operations at a mechanical recycling facility in Jurupa Valley CA. This role is responsible for the safe movement of raw materials and finished products throughout the facility with a primary focus on forklift operation material handling and supporting recycling process operations. The ideal candidate will have prior forklift experience a strong commitment to safety and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklifts to load unload transport and stage raw materials and finished products throughout the facility.
- Follow all site safety procedures and comply with company environmental health and safety requirements.
- Collaborate with operations and maintenance personnel to support equipment trials production activities and process improvements.
- Manage raw materials by organizing weighing measuring and preparing materials for processing.
- Perform visual inspections of incoming and outgoing materials and report any quality or contamination concerns.
- Prepare materials for the recycling infeed process and assist with material flow throughout the facility.
- Perform equipment changeovers and assist with the disassembly assembly and cleaning of process equipment as needed.
- Maintain clean work areas by collecting and disposing of waste materials in designated compactors or dumpsters.
- Support inventory accuracy by properly identifying labelling and staging materials.
- Complete required operational and safety documentation.
- Assist with other production and material handling activities as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma GED or equivalent
- Valid forklift certification and demonstrated experience operating forklifts in an industrial manufacturing warehouse or recycling environment.
- Ability to safely load unload stack and transport materials.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety standards.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate with operations and maintenance personnel.
- Comfortable working in an industrial recycling facility environment.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including standing walking bending and climbing as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in recycling manufacturing plastics processing or material recovery operations.
- Experience supporting production equipment operations and changeovers.
- Familiarity with inventory management and material tracking processes.
